Technical Coordinator

The technical coordinator is responsible for making sure the system architecture is followed and supports development streams and teams with technical knowledge.

Description​

The technical coordinator works closely with product managers and product owners to understand requirements and their impact on the system from an architectural perspective. With a deep knowledge of implementations, they can guide and support Product Owners and other stakeholders on the more complex technical aspects of the system.

The technical coordinator assesses the overall impact on the system and conducts preliminary studies, high-level technical feasibility evaluations, and contributes to effort estimates in the following situations:

  • Developing new features in the existing product line that affect multiple development streams.
  • Addressing complex enhancements or bugs that impact the entire system.
  • Transitioning to new operating systems or development environments.

The technical coordinator is responsible for technically coordinating features, ensuring the proper sequencing of development activities across the development streams, and resolving any technical conflicts.

They update and refine the architecture documents for existing product lines, keeping them current as the new architecture evolves, and help in creating system-level technical roadmaps.

Responsibilities​

  • Ensure the architecture and design of each development stream align with the overall system architecture.
  • Translate system requirements into technical requirements (enablers) and coordinate these across development streams.
  • Assess the impact of the system architecture on design and implementations in the development streams.
  • Supports the creation of implementation proposals with development streams, providing technical guidance to development streams and teams.
  • Manage complex and technical customer cases to closure.
  • Ensure technical and non-functional requirements (NFRs) are included in system tests.
  • Plan and prepare system demos for stakeholders.
