L4 Engineer

The L4 engineer evaluates issues together with L3 Support and identifies either a workaround for the customer problems or creates product defects to be added to stream and team backlogs for corrections in future releases.

Description

He/she can also, in critical cases, ensure the defect resolution gets the right priority and follow up on every step until a workaround is provided or the defect is corrected. The L4 engineer also provides information on the defect that can be used in the communication with the customer together with L3 Support.

The L4 engineer can be either permanent or assigned on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge product defects, provide a work-around together with teams, or ensure the defects are included in the stream and team backlogs and ranked with other types of work.
  • Provide information about the defect (workaround or correction) to customers via L3 Support.
  • Track the status of defects until they have a resolution (deferred, corrected, works as designed, work-around, etc.).
  • Deliver temporary corrections to L3.
