Ex Representative ExR

The Ex representative has the overall responsibility for the process of the Ex standard. In addition, the role coordinates the Ex certification.

Description

Equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres cannot be developed so that they cause hazards for health, environment, and value. This person coordinates which certifications apply and which notified body to use depending on requirements.

Responsibilities

• Technically responsible for Ex product design.
• Ex quality processes.
• Be part of the configuration change control coard (CCB) for process and maintenance for Ex-related items.
• Has the possibility to stop deliveries to customers in case of indicated Ex-critical issues (e.g. if the products deviate from certification documents).
• Initiate internal and support external audits.
• Assist in requirements definition for Ex perspective.
• Assure that manufacturers produce according to certification.
• Assist service and repair with the definition of repair strategies.
• Observe Ex standard development and initiate change requests if required.
• Initiate and coordinate internal training for persons working with Ex products.
